One of the best films ever made. So on point it’s ridiculous. ‘They Live’ should be required viewing for anybody with half a brain. Sometimes I wonder what side people are really on… Enlighten yourself and see what life is like from the other side.
One of the best skateboarding spots ever. It was like the pool skating gods where channeling straight through the plaster and into the locals. The skating that happened within the confines of that vacant motel were legendary. The effects of the Vagabond have continuously been felt in pool skateboarding for over a decade. What’s happened up there has pushed skateboarding well into the future in terms of athletic progression and skate park design. Fresno is a pool skateboarding mecca and the people behind the madness are commendable for all the hard work and craziness they’ve had to deal with to make that place what it is….
A pool skateboarding documentary spanning over a decade of secret spots and classic video with some of the best in the business. Tough to get your hands on, but worth the effort if you can. Made with love by Cexa of Brazil. Insane flick shot while on the hunt, this video belongs in your pool skating library.
Rain is somewhat here giving this dirty skate state the good ole wash down it rightfully needs. That means all the empty pools up and down the state just got rinsed at least mildly. Just enough to break out the buckets and put in some work. The pools need it, get all that dirt off the surface and sticky again. No slip grip is what you want and now you got it. Nothing like a clean plaster surface for skateboarding. Plaster and urethane go well together as creative partners and even better once you eliminate debris from the equation. Enjoy the day and get ready to put in some work. The quicker the better. Don’t get lazy, evaporation is slow in winter and water discolors relatively quickly if anything is in it like leaves or trash.
Another storm should be here in the next couple days so however much water is in each pool will likely double as the next storm should be similar. Have fun out there and water the fruit trees next to the pool so at least you will have fruit. That’s about it, help the fruit to ripen and you’ll get to eat.
One of the best pool skateboarders on the planet, Chris Miller skates with speed, power, and style that is unrivaled. A true legend and a righteous dude, Chris Miller continues to inspire and push the limits of pool skateboarding.
Lofty Frontside ollie off the hip and into the shallow...
its Miller time! Thank you Jeff Samaripa for the photo.
Pool Surfing Research in Oceanside, California on January 5, 2012
The swell was supposed to come up today before really kicking in for the weekend. It kinda looked normal, nothing too crazy. Size picked up towards dusk, but not that much. The general public does not have a clue, they only get spoon fed infotainment from the mainstream propaganda outlets…in fact, the surf has been pumping for the last month or so, there just hasn’t been any news coverage. When I get up in a few hours our beloved coastline should be getting battered by some double and triple over head pounding surf. I wonder if its gonna be ride-able? I’m excited to see. I’ll take some pics, shoot some video and see how things stack up. A secret spot deep in the cuts of Long Beach may break, we’ll have to check first thing in the a.m., cross your fingers!!!
Check back for some proof.
If its too gnarly and walled out or just maxed out crazy, I’ll just go skateboarding. It would be nice to find a little nook with some ride-able waves!!! Conditions becoming too gnarly is something skateboarding does not deal with too often. Imagine the bowl getting too gnarly to ride and having to chill until it mellows out. Its tough to imagine skating in those terms.
Looks like the production team on Southland should have consulted with poolskateboarding.com before staging such a phony looking death scene. Talk about making skateboarding look bad. Nothing about this makes sense. We’re here to help, next time call us.
(BTW, I think this pool is adjacent to a very well known LA street skating spot.)
To more of everything rad and less of anything sad! Poolskateboarding.com wishes everybody around the world a happy new year! To more pools, waves, sunny days and beautiful women. To a prosperous 2012 regardless of what the Mayans say…
Or to adventure and good times…whatever your motto is.
Whatever you do today is supposed to mirror the year, well I don’t necessarily buy that but its good motivation to do something awesome with your time on this special day. I’m hoping to surf when I get up then skate somewhere concrete. Not exactly sure where, somewhere in OC or LA or both. Surf in Orange County and skate in Los Angeles…it could happen. I will snap a couple pics and put them here later today as an ode to 2012 and the rest of the year…have a great day!
