Ridiculous surely lived up to her name this past weekend as her contours were caressed by some of skateboarding’s best…

Not all pools get skated…

Not every pool we come across will get skated. While contemplating the variables, things like logistics and usability weigh in. The overall risk is evaluated and if the pros out weigh the cons then well maybe the pool will get ridden, carved and grinded or maybe not…

Pool Skateboarding in 2010

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Upon perusing the Internet its easy to see that pool skateboarding has in recent years become a international phenom once again.  The accessibility of ready made California designed/inspired skate-parks has facilitated this expansion if you will into the global powerhouse it is today.  The Internet has brought together groups of like minded individuals that would have never know each other from opposite sides of the world.

Amazing how we can all share the infinite stoke on what we’re riding and see how the other side lives so to speak.  Australia, Japan, Canada, South America, UK, Europe, etc all have healthy pool skateboarding scenes that coexist against the tide of mainstream exposure.  A once underground activity is now being thrust into the spotlight, but only on our terms.  When we decide to share you will see the results, if not well the sessions never stop and I wonder just how many pools get ridden on any given day throughout the planet.  I will try and come up with a number here shortly after emailing around and seeing what various crews are up to.

Until then peace out, stay positive and live life…

Pool skating with the crew

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Another Sunday funday with the crew.

A good sized rectangle with steep walls and solid vertical helped us get through the morning a little easier that day.  Pools like this are fun to ride because anything you get is worthy.  This one had good carve-able round deep end corners, “good” being a relative term in this case.  I think this may have only been ridden once or twice by our crew before the becoming a forgotten hole in the vast wasteland that is the Badlands…
